Case Study

QES completed the installation of Hybrid Solar Power System for the Telecommunication Base Station

Overview

QES is well recognised for its deep expertise in Telecommunications Network Power Services and Sustainable Energy Systems and was requested to Design and Install a Hybrid DC Power System to replace the existing legacy DC Power system and to upgrade the Telecommunications Base Station.

The Team supplied a one-stop solution with a design allowing for seamless integration/cutover of the new systems: Solar PV ; Hybrid DC Power System ensuring that network operations were not impacted throughout the duration of project.

The site was future proofed for the integration of Lio-Ion Batteries and Generator and using QES’s in-house designed monitoring and management system, TIMMS, all data and site information could be remotely accessed for analysis against calculated yield data.

The use of renewables in electricity generation in 2018 reduced CO2 emissions by Mt and avoided €430 million in fossil fuel imports.
